Samsung Galaxy A20s is in the low-cost segment but has many upgrades in battery and camera compared to the A20.
The camera cluster on the A20s consists of a 13-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens (while on the Galaxy A20 it is 5 megapixels) and a 5-megapixel camera with depth-measuring capabilities for better portrait photography.
Samsung is expected to sell the A20s in Southeast Asia from September 21 for $ 170 (about VND 4 million) and Malaysia is the first market to distribute this product.
In addition to the camera, the battery is increased to 4,000 mAh compared to 3,400 mAh on the Galaxy A20. The screen also increased by 0.1 inches to 6.5 inches but kept the HD + resolution. However, the “water droplet” screen switched to using TFT panel technology instead of Super AMOLED as before.
Galaxy A20s uses Snapdragon 450 chip, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB memory, similar configuration with Xiaomi and Huawei smartphones at the same price range.
With the Galaxy A20s, Samsung displayed a strategy to compete with Chinese rivals in the low-end, mid-range segment by the number of products. The company has launched more than 10 Galaxy A models in 2019.
